Babysitting Workshop:  Practical Instruction in Childcare
Three Thursdays in January: 4 – 5:30 pm January 5, 12, and 19, 2012
Come to all three sessions to be eligible for two great perks: to be on the Library’s Babysitter’s List (in constant demand by parents looking for babysitters) and to attend the Babysitters’ Reception on Sunday January 29, where you can meet parents searching for babysitters.  Both are great ways to get jobs.  PLEASE TAKE SERIOUS NOTE:  If there is a conflict for you on any one of these days and you cannot be there for the full session, we cannot put you on the Babysitters’ List.  Registration begins December 1 (by phone or in person).

Babysitters’ Reception
Sunday, January 29, 2 – 3:30 pm
Looking for a babysitter?  Bring the kids!  Come and meet the graduates of The Bryant Library Young Adult Babysitter’s Workshop.  Refreshments served.  Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity.  Meet these great young adults and let your kids bond with the babysitter of their choice.  Please register at the Reference Desk beginning December 1 (by phone or in person).

Our cupcake expert Candace C. will teach us how to make a buffet of petite sweets for Valentine’s Day – a mixed plate of cupcakes, decorated cookies, candy, and beautiful chocolates to delight guests and friends!  It will result in a beautiful setting of tiny treats for you to share.  Registration is limited for this special program!  Please register at Reference by Feb. 1.  $5 Materials fee.

AnimeCon
Saturday, February 11, 1-3:30 pm
Come to the library for an afternoon of Anime activities!  We will have a Cosplay contest, Maid Café, a Ramen Eating Contest (spicy!), Candy Sushi, Japanese Nail Art, and more!  We will demonstrate videogames like Blazblue, Touhou, and Pokemon Stadium, and you can get a turn to play.  Please register in person or by phone at the Reference Desk by February 10.

YADAC
The Young Adult Advisory Council (YADAC) meets with our Young Adult Librarian, Irene Winkler every Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm. We plan programs and supervise those library events that we planned.  We welcome all teens in grades 6-12 to earn community service by serving at the Bryant Library.  Come every Friday when school is open at 4 p.m. to get credit for service and help the library get the job done!  Call the Reference Desk if you have any questions.  See you on Friday!
