IMPROV!
Sunday, March 25th, 2-3:30 p.m.
Informal and comfortable - that's what this workshop offers teens a chance to act ad lib scenes and in short skits -- maybe we'll do commercials this time. In fact, unpredictable scenes and situations are what improvisational theater is all about. In "Who's Line is it Anyway" style, we'll be experimenting in acting and taking chances. Workshop leader, Sara Dreiblatt, is an acting teacher and has been doing improv with kids at Levels in Great Neck.

The Pool Boy by Michael Simmons
Saturday, April 20th, 5-6:00 p.m.
What if you lost everything? Your house, your ability to afford what you have now? What if you lost your family as you know it? In Pool Boy, Brett (15) had it all: good looks, a winning personality, and a lot of money. That is, until the police busted his dad for money laundering and insider trading. Now the teen's posh lifestyle is gone, and Brett, his mom, and sister move into their aunt's ramshackle house and he gets a short-lived fast-food job before isgning up to help 70-year-old pool cleaner, Alfie Moore. under Alfie's tutelage Brett faces the humiliation of cleaning the pools of his friends, as well as the pool of his old home where Brett is dubbed "pool boy" by the new owners of the house. How humiliating! Can Brett forgive his father for being a criminal and losing the family fortune? Can he rebuild th elife torn apart by his father's crimes? Can Brett ultimately learn to appreciate life for more than what money can buy>? A thought-provoking easy read that will surely stimulate interesting discussion for parents and young adults.
Volunteers are needed to lead these discussions! It is a great experience and guides are provided! Please leave your name with the Children's Department or email Roseanne Frank at rfrankbryant@optonline.net.
